Some quick style ideas from my morning dog walk doodles polished (or unpolished) in Photoshop. All concepts for the film/comic I want to make.
I've taken to drawing while I'm walking the dogs. Wobbly but fun.
Also work with the great guys at Ka-Ching is done. Always great to work on a European show. They seem to be free from the often mind numbing regulations of zero threat we have over here. Life jackets on a character pretending to be on a boat anyone?

At the moment I'm working on the live action thing I hinted at a few months ago and awaiting the start of a new project to direct. Hopefully contracts will get signed soon.

Following on from the last post, heres some old colour notes from various things.
One day Ill be able to post new stuff.
Heres a few thumbnails I used to hand out to the storyboard artists on Fleabag Monkeyface. Overtime these notes got less and less. Due to my time and the amazingness of the board team.

Heres a few colour notes also. I didn't do these for every show, only when we had something specific in mind. Later the amazing Chris Coady took this role off my hands.
Its been way too long. News is I'm working with the awesome guys at Ka-Ching cartoons on their new show. Having fun doing nothing but drawing. Im hopeful, now Im freelancing again I'll have time to post new stuff.

Storyboarding. Flash can kick you if you aren't careful but its good to be drawing. Should be ok to post these two close-ups. Great fun doing something for a couple of top guys.
I've actually not seen the show but Dragon Wars: Fire and Fury was aired on Sunday, 9th December on National Geographic. Its a live action show with animated sections which I boarded. The screens look cool.

At Blue Zoo the show at zipping along. Animation is coming in and the first renders and comps are appearing. The turn over on the show has been crazy fast. One reason for my poor blogging.
Various old drawings... apart from the bottom two. Both from the project I'm amusing myself with at the moment.

Big news is I'm now a director at Blue Zoo animation in London. A great bunch of people!

I've also put a more professional work site together at jezhall.com Theres a news blog on there, grabs from shows I've worked on etc. Its generally less interesting than here, but its nice to show my mum :)
I bought a notebook to stick all my ideas about a new idea.....er.....in. I told my pal Mick about it a while ago and it scared him a bit. Maybe it was my unblinking gaze......Anyway, Micks reaction got me back into it. It's developed into something pretty grim. I really fancy putting it together as a comic. Just something I can please myself with. Something I can draw how I want and a story I can go where I want with.
